The National Medical University of Kazakhstan

Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University (KazNMU), founded in 1930, is Kazakhstan's premier medical institution and has been the main source of healthcare personnel for the country for over 94 years. Named after the prominent Kazakh statesman and scientist S.D. Asfendiyarov, the university has trained nearly 80,000 doctors of various specialties who have made significant contributions to public health.

Remarkably, every third doctor practicing in Kazakhstan today is a graduate of KazNMU. With over 11,000 students, including approximately 1,800 international students from various countries, the university maintains a diverse and vibrant academic community.

The university operates three teaching hospitals: "Aksay" children's hospital, Professor hospital for diabetes and ENT specialties, and the Clinic of Internal Medicine.

The university's Department of International Cooperation, established in 2008, has developed partnerships with 102 universities and medical institutions across 36 countries, providing extensive opportunities for student exchange and collaborative research.
