No, NEET-UG is mandatory for all MBBS admissions in India, including government, private, deemed universities, and minority institutions. The only exceptions are AIIMS and JIPMER which had separate exams previously but have now been merged with NEET from 2020 onwards. Foreign nationals seeking admission under NRI quota also need to qualify NEET.

What documents are required during counseling? +

Essential documents include: NEET-UG admit card and scorecard, Class 10 & 12 mark sheets and certificates, birth certificate, category certificate (if applicable), domicile certificate, ID proof (Aadhar, passport, etc.), 8-10 passport photographs, and provisional allotment letter. Original documents along with photocopies are required during reporting.

For All India Quota: Usually 4 rounds - Round 1, Round 2, Mop-Up Round, and Stray Vacancy Round. For State Quotas: Varies by state but typically 2-3 rounds.
