A Bridge Between Nations

Kyrgyz Russian Slavic University (KRSU) is a unique binational public higher education institution established on September 9, 1993, through an intergovernmental treaty between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Russian Federation. Founded on principles of friendship, cooperation, and mutual assistance, the university symbolizes the strong educational and cultural ties between the two nations.

The university was named in honor of Boris Nikolayevich Yeltsin, the first President of the Russian Federation, in 2004 as an expression of appreciation for his support in founding the institution. KRSU operates under joint Kyrgyz-Russian oversight, delivering curricula aligned with standards from both nations and issuing dual diplomas valid across their territories.

Mission: To provide high-quality education through integration of Kyrgyz and Russian educational standards, fostering specialists capable of contributing to technological and socio-economic advancement while preserving shared Slavic cultural and spiritual values.

Comprehensive Academic Structure

KRSU offers education across seven major faculties encompassing over 90 academic departments, with particular strengths in medicine, engineering, and international relations.

Medical Faculty

Trains physicians in general medicine, pediatrics, and dentistry with 38 clinical sites. Over 5,000 medical graduates since 1994. Recognized by WHO, NMC, and ECFMG.

Natural-Technical Sciences

Focuses on applied mathematics, informatics, physics, and engineering with research in technical innovation.

Faculty of Law

Emphasizes civil, criminal, and international law with curricula aligned to dual Kyrgyz and Russian legal standards.

International Relations

Specializes in journalism, diplomacy, and global politics with emphasis on Eurasian cooperation.

Faculty of Economics

Covers economic theory, finance, and management, preparing students for roles in Kyrgyz-Russian economic integration.

Architecture & Construction

Offers programs in building engineering, urban planning, and creative design for Central Asia's infrastructure needs.

Campus & Student Life

KRSU's main campus is located in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan's capital city, featuring modern educational buildings, well-equipped laboratories, a comprehensive library, and sports facilities. The university is currently undergoing a major expansion with a new 30-hectare campus under construction near the Ala-Archa state residence.

The new campus project, estimated at $30 million with completion targeted by 2030, will create a modern educational cluster with advanced laboratories and libraries to accommodate up to 15,000 students. Relocation to the new campus in Baitik village is planned for 2028.
